Season 1 Summary

Desperate for answers about powers that she can’t control, and a past no one will explain, she flees to Hogarth (the spooky backwater where she was born) and quickly learns she isn’t the only monster in town.
Finding herself in the crosshairs of a power-hungry necromancer bent on raising a zombie army, Norah is forced to team up with a newbie demon hunter and two very unprepared high schoolers. Together, they face horrors beyond their worst nightmares bringing Norah one step closer to the terrifying truth about what she is and where she really came from.
Episode 1
A man dies after stumbling upon a strange public access channel hosted by ‘Glen the Magnificent’, a mysterious late-night psychic. That same night, two high schoolers park at a secluded rest stop in Black Hollow Woods for a date.
Things take a turn when they spot a man loitering in the darkness. The zombified man attacks them, before bursting into flames. Meanwhile, Norah drives into Hogarth, looking for answers to her dark past.
Episode 2
Norah arrives at her estranged late-grandmother’s old house, a place her mother fled as a teenager. In her mother’s old bedroom, seemingly untouched since 2008, she finds a black cat, which triggers a terrifying vision of a bloody figure that attacks her.
Norah startles awakes from a nightmare, only to find something worse waiting in the darkness. Braran, the handsome incorporeal demon who has taken to stalking her. He warns her about coming to back to Hogarth before disappearing into the night.
Episode 3
A burned body lies in the County Morgue. It’s the seventh recovered from Black Hollow Woods in the last 6 months with no clear explanation. Soon after, occult expert Paul Winaker arrives to investigate.
Meanwhile, Braran is confronted by his master, an ancient demon named Jer’Giman, who chastises him for failing to bring Norah into the fold. Jer’Giman orders Braran to get rid of the demon hunter, Paul, and warns him to bring Norah to them soon… or else.
Episode 4
Paul rides through the eerie streets of Hogarth, scanning for supernatural activity with his EMF reader, which registers a large spike outside of the local high school. Suspecting something powerful hiding in plain sight, Paul decides to return later to avoid attention and heads to Black Hollow Wood.
Inside Hogarth High, Norah battles the intrusive thoughts of her classmates, exposing an unstable psychic ability. After a tense clash with a neurotic girl named Halle, Norah realises how close she is to losing control on her abilities.
Episode 5
Norah arrives at her first class, where the intrusive thoughts of her classmates intensify. However, she is steadied by the arrival of a boy named Josh, whose presence somehow dampens the noise.
Until she is called to introduce herself, which causes Norah to face a surge of thoughts and begin losing control again. At her breaking point, three birds slam into the window, shocking the class and halting her demonic transformation. Overwhelmed by her unstable power, Norah faints.
Episode 6
Norah wakes in the school nurse’s office alone, panicked that they will find out she has lied about her identity. Luckily, Braran covered for her, but he still urges Norah to leave Hogarth. Their argument escalates, ending with Norah insulting Braran.
He vanishes without retaliation, but her words have clearly stirred something dangerous. Elsewhere, necromancer Glen, grumbles over his inability to build a zombie army, until Braran offers him assistance in exchange for a favour; to kill a demon hunter.

Episode 9
While organising equipment after football practice, Josh hears a struggle and finds Paul on the football field. While waiting for the ambulance, Josh notices something human-like jump the outer fence but dismisses it as his imagination.

Episode 10

Halle tries to help, but Norah disappears, prompting her to call Josh, who tells her he is dealing with an incident involving an injured man back at the high school.
Meanwhile, Norah returns to her grandmother’s house, where she treats her injuries as best she can, resets her dislocated arm and cleans herself in a harsh, self punishing shower.
Episode 11
After Ms Greene’s destruction, Glen accuses Braran of withholding the truth about Norah’s powers. Braran denies this and vanishes, leaving Glen disgruntled. Enraged, he fixates on destroying both Jer’Giman and Braran, formulating a diabolical plan.
Meanwhile, Norah is haunted by vivid hallucinations, only for Braran to appear and provoke her further. Learning about the incident at the high school, Braran rushes to hide Paul’s body, only to realise that his carefully laid plan is spiralling out of control.
Episode 12
The next day, rumours spread around Hogarth High about the incident on the football field and Ms Greene’s disappearance. Halle, already unsettled from her run in with Norah, is humiliated when she tries to prevent the mean girl clique from bullying some unpopular kids.
Halle then flees to the school bathrooms to avoid Norah, who accidentally reveals her mind reading ability. After a short conversation, Halle agrees to take Norah to the hospital so she can check up on Paul.
Episode 13
Josh wakes up in hospital, where Paul lies critically injured in a nearby bed, and notices a strange symbol tattooed on Paul’s arm. Hiding in the shadows, Braran attempts to possess Josh and kill Paul, but is interrupted by the arrival of Halle and Norah.
The teens argue leading to Norah reviving Paul with a latent ability she wasn’t aware of. Paul suggests they leave so they can discuss the situation more privately, meanwhile Braran is shocked by Norah’s power, realising how much he still doesn’t know about her.
Episode 14
Paul reveals he is a demon hunter and explains he was sent to investigate a series of supernatural deaths in Hogarth, linking Ms Greene’s case to reanimated corpses known as thralls.
He brings the teens to a hidden, high tech safe-house owned by the Winaker Order, where the group debates Norah’s demonic abilities and how they will handle the current danger. Their discussion is cut short when a portal opens and Glen steps through, smiling as he threatens the group by taking Josh captive.
Episode 15
Norah tries to fight Glen, but he escapes through the portal, taking Josh and demanding Norah follow them. Norah calls for Braran’s help, and despite the group’s mistrust, convinces him to locate Glen using his aura tracking ability.
Meanwhile, Josh is taken to a foul lair, where Glen mixes a potion in a stinking cauldron. After drinking the potion, Glen demonstrates his new power by draining Josh’s life force.
Episode 16
Braran arrives at Glen’s lair and interrupts him while he is draining Josh, inadvertently saving the teenager’s life. Glen then tries to drain Braran’s essence, who barely escapes. Back at the safe-house, Halle pushes for action, when Braran returns and confirms Glen’s new plan to raise his zombie army.
Despite distrust and fear, they arm themselves and head to the abandoned arts cinema where Glen is hiding. Paul suggests a cautious approach, but Halle breaks ranks and forces entry with an axe.
Episode 17
The group breaks into the abandoned arts cinema, finding a vast, decayed lobby that appears empty, raising suspicion that Braran may have misled them. They find Josh alive but disoriented, when Glen suddenly appears and traps them in cinematic fashion.
He unleashes undead thralls, overwhelming the group. In the chaos, Glen focuses on Norah and begins draining her life force to amplify his power. The others watch in horror, unable to reach Norah due to the onslaught of thralls surrounding them.
Episode 18
Braran possesses Glen to restore Norah’s stolen energy. Glen is then destroyed when Norah unleashes a final fireball, collapsing the thrall army. Halle, Josh and Paul celebrate the victory, while Norah fights her demon form, only to be talked down by the others.
The next day, Paul decides to stay in town and encourages Norah to explore her powers, despite her reservations. Meanwhile, Braran is confronted by Jer’Giman for failing his mission and warned that further failure will not be tolerated.
What’s to come in Personal Demon – Season 2…
Norah’s been unwittingly entered into a gladiatorial death match pitting her against demons representing the four classic elements: Fire, Earth, Water and Air. However, fearing she’ll lose control of herself again, Norah rejects the trial, putting her friends (and the very fabric of reality) at risk.
As if that’s not enough, Paul’s overbearing older sister Harri arrives in town. And she’s not thrilled about the fact Paul’s made besties with the very demon he was sent to kill. Meanwhile, Halle’s over it, Josh is caught in the middle, and Norah’s going to have to decide once and for all: Is she the hero they all need… or something they should be afraid of?
